6.9 magnitude earthquake hits Indonesia’s Lombok

According to the US Geological Survey, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake jolted the Indonesian island of Lombok on Sunday, just hours after a 6.3 magnitude quake shook the island.


Also, two smaller quakes were reported.




There were no immediate reports of fatalities.


The National Disaster Mitigation Agency said that the island has lost power and added that several buildings and homes have collapsed in Sembalun subdistrict on the northeast part of Lombok.
