For the first time, the US Air Force is gearing up to put nuclear armed bombers back on the 24 hour ready alert. This is not seen since the Cold War ended in 1991. Note that this formidable B-52 aircraft can be implemented in action at moment's notice. When it comes to North Korea, the US President Donald Trump has warned his Air Force to be prepared for anything.
In case, if you don't know, the B-52 Stratosfortress is the heavy bomber of the US Air Force with a flying range of 9000 miles. It is in use since the mid 1950s and offers incredible payload capability. It can carry 30 tonnes of bombs and can also fitted with large numbers of nuclear-able cruise missiles and precision air-to-surface rockets.
