Hyderabad student shot at in US

On Saturday at around 8:45 am, an Indian student from Hyderabad, Mohammed Akbar was allegedly shot at in Chicago in the United States.

 

 

His father said that he was shot at in the cheek by an unidentified person and is in the hospital. He added that Akbar is seriously injured and the incident took place when he was walking towards his car in the parking area in Chicago’s Albany Park neighbourhood.

 

The 30-year-old Akbar is pursuing his masters in computer systems networking and telecommunications at DeVry University in Illionois.

 

Akbar’s family sought Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj’s help to travel to the US on an emergency visa.
