Jayalalithaa death probe panel seeks extension

Justice A. Arumughaswamy Commission has sought six months extension to complete the probe on former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s unfortunate demise. The Commission’s three month tenure for the investigation ends on December 24.

The Commission penned a letter to the public secretary and said that it has been able to investigate only 6 of the total 60 people issued summons in connection with Jayalalithaa’s hospitalisation and death.

Reports say that it has to examine more than 50 people and verify the CCTV footage in Apollo Hospital and Poes Garden. It is being heard that the extension will be granted.
