Singer Chinmayi Sripada has filed an online petition demanding Twitter to shutdown of accounts that tweet rape threats to women. The star took the decision after receiving threats of rape and acid attack for 'expressing opinion' on Twitter.
After tweeting her opinion, she received threats like, "You need to be raped, I'll throw acid on your face, I'll make sure you never sing again."
She said, "These threats of violence left me shaken and scared for my life".
Chinmayi filed a police complaint which led to the arrest of 3 abusers who spent 10 days in jail.
