AP CM Chandrababu Naidu demanded today that the Centre must reveal what it has given Andhra Pradesh through a Whitepaper. He said that the Centre had shown 27 pages of accounts and funds, but had not clarified how much had been approved and actually sanctioned to the state. He made these remarks at the meeting of the TDP Coordination Committee today. In a situation already fraught woth tension and verbal battles between the TDP and the BJP, these remarks add fuel to the fire.
Chandrababu Naidu also declared at this meeting that Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan’s fight for the promises made during bifurcation was justified, and that he was acting to take the state forward. He is reported to have told party leaders that the TDP government had no problem with the Janasena calling for a JAC. Chandrababu Naidu also clarified that all information about the special status and funds was available on the TDP website to maintain transparency, and there was no further information to give to Pawan Kalyan. Naidu said that Pawan was taking his own route for the benefit of the state and intimated to the leaders that they must explain the difference between special status and special fund to the general public of the state. Chandrababu Naidu deftly handled Pawan Kalyan’s demand for a whitepaper from the state government by pointing him to existing information, proving his political mettle once again.
