Kamal Hassan, who is in the process of setting up his own political party, made some sensational comments in an interview given to the news channel, India Today, at the Harvard University in Boston. Kamal declared that he did not like saffron politics and his politics would be black, further explaining that black represented the Dravidian people and voice. He also spoke about the TDP-BJP alliance in this interview. When questioned why he was concerned with a national party’s ideology, Kamal replied that regional parties would have to work with national parties, whether they had an alliance or not. He gave the example of Chandrababu Naidu to say that a party like BJP could not be ignored. He pointed out that the protest by TDP against the injustice meted out to Andhra Pradesh in the Central budget was symbolic of relations between the national and regional parties.
