On Sunday, BJP National President Amit Shah appointed former president Kanna Lakshminarayana as its chief in Andhra Pradesh.
Also, Somu Veerraju, who was a contender for the post, was made the state convener of the election management committee.
The move comes weeks after it was widely reported that Kanna Lakshminarayana was quitting the saffron party to join the YSRCP.
