Though the BJP had dramatically surged ahead towards the victory mark in the Karnataka Assembly polls, leaving the ruling Congress badly bruised, the official records say that most Kannadigas voted in favor of Congress.
Here is the detailed voting percentage by the Election Commission
Out of the 224 constituencies in Karnataka, elections were held only for 22 constituencies. The RR elections got postponed to 28th May after the EC officials have seized fake voter ID cards in huge number. The results would be declared on 31st May. On the other hand, Jayanagar elections too got postponed due to the sudden demise of BJP leader. The polling date is yet to be declared by the EC to this constituency.
The total number of voters in Karnataka is 4.98 crores (Women-2.44 cr, Men-2.52 cr, Transgenders-4552).
