Kerala tourism incurs Rs 2,100 crore loss due to floods

The Kerala tourism has incurred a loss of Rs 2,100 crore during the devastating floods. P. Bala Kiran, the tourism director, said that the preliminary estimate of the industry in terms of infrastructure and business is around Rs 2000 crore.

 

 

 

Also, the state government tourism properties have incurred an estimated loss of around Rs 80-100 crore.

 

Speaking to DC, he said, “This is the preliminary estimates made available by the industry representatives during a meeting on August 23.”

 

He added, “We are not rushing into the commencement of the season.”
