Mexico struck by massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake

On Friday night, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck southeastern Mexico with the epicentre in the state of Oaxaca. The officials said that there is no human loss and the quake caused only the material damage.

 

 

Initially, the USGS said a magnitude of 7.5 but then revised it downward. Later, a magnitude 5.8 aftershock hit Oaxaca.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre reported that “based on all available data, there is no tsunami threat from this earthquake.”
