The Telangana CM KCR said that there won’t be any more Nagar Panchayats in Telangana and the government has upgraded 21 Nagar panchayats into municipalities. He said that as per the new Panchayat Raj law, there are 12, 751 Grama Panchayats and 147 Municipalities, and Municipal corporations clubbed together. KCR also said elections will be conducted for the Municipalities soon.
Assembly had passed the Telangana Panchayati Raj bill today. KCR said that it’s sad to know that there’s no welcome change in Panchayati Raj department which has 1,36,000 public representatives.
On the other hand, TRS MP Harish Rao explained about the bills passed in the Parliament and he expressed his happiness over the center approving the long-pending assigned lands bill.
