It’s been over 7 years since the world’s fearful terrorist Osama Bin Laden was shot dead and the world has almost forgotten his name, but his mother Ghanem is still trying to come out of his thoughts. Though the world labelled him as the most dreaded terrorist, his mother feels Osama was the most lovable kid and very good in nature.
Ghanem, who lives in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with her second husband and two of bin Laden’s brothers, sat down with Martin Chulov to discuss Osama bin Laden’s childhood and how he became the most famous terrorist in the world, responsible for the 9/11 attacks and others across the world.
Ghanem called bin Laden, her firstborn son, “shy,” and “academically capable” as a child.
But, she and Laden’s brothers blamed that his college years are to blame for his radicalization. She said that Laden was a very good man until he met some people who pretty much brainwashed him in his early 20s. Ghanem said that though she warned Laden to stay away from them, he never did that and as a result, he became the most feared terrorist in the world.
