The audience waiting for their favourite songs to air on The Arch Station in Saint Louis, USA, were surprised to hear the wailing of a newborn baby instead. They later found out that the radio presenter Cassidy Proctor had given birth ‘on air’! The Arch Station produces radio programmes in conjunction with a hospital in the city. Cassidy, a presenter on The Arch Station, broadcasted her labour and delivery live on radio.
She went into the labour while she was in the studio conducting her usual programme. Arrangements were immediately made for her delivery and she gave birth to a healthy baby boy in the studio itself. Cassidy said that it felt amazing to be able to share such a wonderful experience withe her audience. The radio station’s audience is now suggesting names for the newborn.
