Fresh trouble for Lalu as Yogi Adityanath orders probe.

Bihar’s most iconic politician and former CM of the state, Lalu Prasad Yadav, has been found guilty in the fodder scam case and sentenced to three and a half years in prison. Lalu, already in jail, is being haunted by the words of the CBI court Judge Shivpal Singh. One day before the judgment, Honourable Judge said that Lalu’s men had called him to strike a deal, but he would decide the case only according to law. Justice Singh named the Collector of Jalaun district, Mannan Akhtar, in this regard. Akhtar, on the other hand, denied this, saying he does not know Lalu Prasad Yadav and he had not called the judge, asking for proof that he had done so.

With this matter creating a lot of confusion about the link between Akhtar and Lalu, and the veracity of the Hon’ble Judge’s statements, U.P. CM Yogi Adityanath has stepped into the fray. He has ordered a probe into the matter, with Jhansi Commissioner Amit Gupta as lead investigating officer. Adityanath has ordered that the investigation should be completed at the earliest. If Lalu is revealed to have a hand in this, his troubles will increase. Yogi Adityanath’s orders must be considered in the context of Lalu’s son trying to organize a country-wide protest, declaring that the BJP had sent his father to jail. Could this be ‘tit for tat’ politics? Only time will tell.
