A new service has come up targetting the ultra rich. The service is a 12 day stay at an uber luxurious hotel. The cost? Just Rs 61 crores. What’s so special, you may ask. Well, this is no ordinary hotel but a space hotel!
A company called Orion Span based in Houston is planning to launch ‘Aurora Station’, a 35ft-by-14ft space that will accommodate four travellers and two crew members 200 miles above the earth. The hotel will start functioning in 2021.
Space travellers will be able to enjoy a zero gravity experience, see the breathtaking auroras and view their hometowns from space. A holodeck will provide a virtual reality experience to the space tourists. They will also take part in research experiments such as growing food while in orbit.
Orion Span has said in a press-release that the 24-month training given to space travellers at present would be condensed into a mandatory 3 month training for their prospective guests. The cost of this stay will begin at $9.5 million per person.
