Jagga Reddy in Nampally court and Bandh observed in Sanga Reddy

Senior Telangana Congress leader and former MLA and K Jagga Reddy has been arrested by the Hyderabad Police for allegedly carrying a fake passport and a visa.

It is alleged that Jagga Reddy, a rebel leader of the Sangareddy district, visited the United States on fake documents.

According to sources, the former MLA had travelled with a woman and a child to the US in 2004. He had claimed they were his wife and child. Later it was found that he had submitted fake documents to show them as his family.

He has been arrested under the Passports Act, the Emigration Act, charges of human trafficking, forgery, and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

However, Jagga Reddy has condemned the arrest and alleged that the caretaker Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in the state is misusing its power by arresting opposition leaders on flimsy grounds.
