Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu in Tirumala; joins common devotees’ queue

On his first visit to Tirumala after he became the Vice-President, Venkaiah Naidu ignored his post as the Second Citizen of the country to join the throng of the common devotees. Arriving at the pushkaram, Venkaiah Naidu and his family prayed to Sri Varahaswamy and procceded into the temple through the Vaikuntham 1 Q complex. The temple officials, however, received him according to the protocol. After the darshan, the Vice-President and his family were blessed by Vedic pundits. He then interacted with the media, and wished everyone that this Makar Sankranti would bring a new dawn into people’s lives. Despite his exalted position as the Vice-President of the country, he too behaved as a common man before the Lord, once again demonstrating that he is a class apart from others.
