In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old woman was gang-raped in her house by five male members of her family and later burnt alive in a temple.
The five men have been identified as – Aram Singh, Mahaveer, Charan Singh, Gullu and Bhona. They are all absconding.
The incident took place in Pathakpur village of Rajpura area in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday at around 2 am when she was at her home with her 10-year-old daughter.
As per reports, the five men barged into her home when her husband was not at home. Her husband works as a labourer in Ghaziabad, UP. At first, they gang-raped her and left the place.
Then, she called her cousin and informed him about the incident. She named the five men and asked for help. An audio clip of the call is now with the police.
Before her cousin could come to her rescue, the five men returned and dragged her to a nearby temple. They then burnt her alive in the havan kund (place where the sacred fire is burnt during religious ceremonies) that was inside a hut in the temple premises.
Further investigation is underway.
