In a state that stands amongst the worst Corona hit states in the country, an official update from one of the hospitals came as a ray of hope to the medical community and government. The 10-month-old baby, who tested Coronavirus positive on March 29 in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore was declared negative.
The baby who is undergoing treatment in an isolation ward at ESI Hospital was discharged as he tested negative for the viral infection on April straight for two times in a row. According to the reports, the child’s mother, grandmother and their family members are among five patients, who were discharged on Monday.
The 10-month-old turning positive for the virus set ripples in the Tamil Nadu’s health scenarios as he happened to be the youngest in the country after three-year-old in Kerala. The case was noted as the contact transmission from patient 43, a 29-year-old woman who came in contact with patient 26 who travelled along with two Thai nationals.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu reported its sixth COVID-19 death and added 50 new cases to its tally on Monday while the state so far registered 621 positive cases.
