Believed to be one of the groundbreaking schemes, but ended up being alleged a scam, the Dalit Bandhu scheme is one of the most controversial acts introduced by the Government of Telangana. Even from day one of its introduction, CM KCR was heavily criticized for planning to implement Dalit Bandhu strategically before elections. Against this whole scenario, the Congress party carried out a strike for 100 days demanding an explanation and calling the scheme a scam.
The protest was held in Mahboobnagar. Leaders questioned KCR on not implementing the Dalit Bandhu even after 100 days of the Huzurabad elections.
Considering the promises made by KCR before the elections, the leaders of the Congress party demanded immediate implementation of the scheme in every constituency of the state. Leaders of the party stated that the policy should come into action, and help every Dalit family.
Leaders paid tributes to Ambedkar’s statue and expressed their anger on the incompetent governance and implementation of welfare schemes. Post the event, they headed to the RTO office and handed over the petition to the senior assistant. The event was attended by Mahabubnagar Assembly Youth Congress President Chandra Shekhar Saiha Paluvuru. He said that their struggle will continue till the Dalit scheme is implemented throughout the state.
