In a major jolt to the employees working at Vijayawada Kanaka Durga Temple, the government of Andhra Pradesh has suspended a total of 13 employees. The suspended employees include five superintendent-level staff working in the temple.
In the line of the orders issued by the endowments department special commissioner Arjuna Rao on Monday night, the staff working in seven different divisions are suspended with immediate effect . The suspensions were reported made with respect to the information provided by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) report.
Upon a series of complaints regarding huge irregularities in the temple lands, shop leases, annadanam (food service), sale of temple visit tickets and the deity’s sarees, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has conducted an investigation followed by which a report was submitted.
Acting on the orders issued, Durga Temple executive officer M. Suresh suspended the superintendents of the Annadanam, the department overseeing the lease of temple lands and shops, and the counters on Indrakeeladri hill and the other staff you resorted to irregularities.
