Hyderabad: The Telangana government’s deadline to the RTC employees to yield by 6 PM on Saturday didn’t bother the strike anyway. The management has stated that only 160 RTC employees reported to their duties by 6 PM on Saturday. Two drivers, two conductors, supervisors, office staff and a mechanic included the list of the employees who reported to the management. Despite the government’s deadline, RTC workers continued the strike halting the buses at the respective depots. TMU State Secretary-General Aswathama Reddy yet again reiterated that the strike would continue until their demands are met by the government of Telangana. After the meetings of a three-member committee of IAS officials and RTC unions leaders failed, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has set a deadline that those who don’t report by 6 a.m. Saturday will be deemed to have given up jobs on their own.
