It seems that the popular saying about people tolerating the sins of their kind is true and Telangana is an absolute example of that. Opposition parties believe so. The behavior of the government and the police have become the talk of the town in the wake of the sensational Amnesia Pub affair. The opposition parties are claiming that the details about the incident were hidden for a long time as the authorities were aware of the involvement of an MLA’s son. They also state that the evidence regarding his involvement is found.
Opposition parties have been criticizing the police department for running a good screenplay to save the MLA’s son with the backing of the government. Although police have arrested three minors and two youths in connection with the incident, there are still many suspicions. Who hosted a party on May 28 at Amnesia Pub? Whose car was the Innova that took the girl? Why did the police seize the red-colored Mercedes Benz car if the rape attempt was done in the Innova? Five suspects were arrested but, where is the Innova car? Many such doubts need to be answered. Can’t they find the original car? Or are they intentionally silent? such questions are being asked. The big question is why the police, who clearly says that M.L.A’s son left the scene before the incident, did not mince words on who owns the Innova car.
Only until the opposition parties got involved in the interrogation and started raising questions, the real details were revealed. People are angry at the selective behavior of the police and the authorities about this incident. Leaders of the opposition also mentioned that it has become common for the police and government officials to create a drama in the first four days of the incidents, then forget about it altogether after that. They also say that even today, the police are saying that it was nothing more than a cool drinks party and the real details were not revealed. Further, they spoke about the government’s inactivity on the drugs case in the Radisson Pub case, and the naked dance affairs which came out in some pubs. The question arises as to why there is no movement in the government despite all this.
Opposition parties are of opinion that Hyderabad city is now full of pubs, and the youth of the state are ruining their lives by doing drugs, and yet the state government is doing nothing as the people involved in these events are the children of some prominent politicians and these favors are helping them in financial affairs. They say that in order to not compromise thousands of crores in revenue through pubs, we are ending up seeing such incidents in Telangana state. The argument is being made that the state should do a better job without any pubs at all. It is questionable why the government does not think this way. Why do people go there and commit crimes every day and why are authorities siding with them? Wouldn’t it be nice to have no pub culture in the state? Opposition leaders are taking these questions to the people.
