With 43 new cases recorded across the state, the Corona tally of Andhra Pradesh is now at 1,930 on the verge of crossing the 2,000-positive cases mark. According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by 10.00 PM on May 9th, the state registered three casualties taking the total death toll to 44. This is the second day, the state straight away registered deaths in the wake of the health authorities claiming that the situations are under control.
While 887 patients have recovered and were discharged from the COVID-19 hospitals, the state now has 999 active cases across the districts. From the past 24 hours, 3 patients reportedly succumbed to the novel infection, two from Krishna and one from Kurnool districts respectively.
Officials confirmed that a total 8,388 samples were tested from 9 a.m. on Friday to 9 a.m. on Saturday while 43 turned positive. The district-wise breakdown of the new cases is as below,
