India’s COVID-19 tally neared the 89-lakh mark on Wednesday with 38,617 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours. According to the recent health bulletin released by the Union Health Ministry, India’s total cases rise to 89,12,908 while the global tally crosses 55 million-mark.
Amidst the speculation over the second wave in the county, India logged 474 new deaths, taking the death toll to 1,30,993 while the total discharged cases at 83,35,110 with 44,739 new discharges in last 24 hours. Active cases, on the other hand, reached at 4,46,805 after a decrease of 6,596 in the last 24 hours.
A total of 12,74,80,186 samples tested for Covid-19, up to 17th November. Of these, 9,37,279 samples were tested yesterday.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh reported 1,395 new infections while 66,000 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Krishna reported the most 260 cases, followed by 247 in West Godavari and 214 in East Godavari. Also, nine more Covid-19 patients succumbed to the infection.
Telangana, on the other hand, logged 948 cases on Wednesday while five patients succumbed to the viral infection. The state government on Tuesday gave a green signal to social, sports, entertainment, cultural, religious, and political gatherings in closed spaces.
