Raids conducted by the registration and stamps department across Andhra Pradesh over the past few days have unearthed shocking irregularities that have been found in sub-registrar offices across Andhra Pradesh.
According to the report submitted by the AP revenue department special chief secretary Rajat Bhargava, the officials have verified 60 lakh challans across the state.
The raids revealed that the employees in at least 17 sub-registrar offices in Andhra were found to have indulged in corrupt activities issuing fake challans. It was unearthed that a deviation of over Rs 5 crore was found resulting in revenue loss to the state exchequer.

In this Rs 5 crores, an amount of Rs 1 crore has been recovered to the state treasury following the raids. Document writers and stamp vendors were also reportedly involved in the malpractice. On this note, the government is facing allegations that it has been protecting fraudsters and illegal officials.
