YTP president Sharmila fired at the TRS regime over the accident in the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift works. She accused the Megha company of being the primary reason behind the deaths of 5 people, as safety features weren’t followed properly. She raised questions about who will be taking responsibility of these deaths. What is the cost of those lives? She deposed, “how many such deaths were hidden under bundles of currency notes?”
How many lives are being suppressed, and how many are crying in pain because of these people? What is the news that did not come out and the world did not know? Sharmila expressed her anger. It is alleged that Megha is taking bribes in a cross-border manner and in this process got involved in building cheap quality work which ended up causing the deaths of five people. She demanded that the contracts of Megha Company, which is playing with people’s lives, should be canceled and an inquiry should be made with the CBI.
The accident took place while the surge work was being done at Reguman Gadda as part of Package-1 of the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift scheme. Five laborers died on the spot in this accident. While lowering the crane for concrete lining in the surge pool, the wires suddenly broke and fell on the workers inside.
All those who died in the accident were laborers from Bihar. The dead bodies were shifted to Osmania Hospital. Neither the authorities nor the police has released any information about this incident. There were criticisms that the contractor is from the Megha company and made sure not to let the matter out. In this background, Sharmila was furious.
