While the heavy rains continue to wreak havoc in Hyderabad, Telangana state government on Monday confirmed that as many as 33 people have died so far in various parts of Telangana.
Claiming that almost 29 bereaved families have already received the announced financial assistance, minister KTR stated that relief operations are also underway on a war footing.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) who called for a high-level review meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on Thursday announced that the state government has released Rs 500 crores for disaster management.
Out of which, financial assistance of Rs.10,000 will be disbursed to each affected family as soon as possible, stated Chief Minister KCR after taking stock of the flood situation.
Further, the CM stated that as many as 200-250 special teams of officers will be pressed into action to disburse the relief announced from Tuesday. The official statement released also stated that Rs 1 lakh will be disbursed for fully damaged houses and Rs 50,000 for partially flood-damaged houses.
Municipal Administration and IT Minister KT Rama Rao, Minister for Power Jagdeesh Reddy, Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy, R&B Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Principal Secretaries of Municipal, Agriculture, R&B, GHMC Commissioner, Hyderabad Collectors were also present at the review meeting.
