With 53,601 new cases registered across the states in the last 24 hours, India’s corona tally climbed to 22,68,675 on Tuesday. According to the recent data from the Union Health Ministry, 871 deaths reported from Monday morning taking the country’s death toll to 45,257.
Of the total cases registered so far, 6,39,929 are active cases and 1,583,489 people have been cured/discharged/migrated. While Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu continued to top the list of worst-hit states, Andhra Pradesh which has been registering over 10,000 cases from the past few days joined the list followed by Karnataka and Delhi.
Going by the data furnished by health officials, India has 28.21 per cent active cases, 69.80 per cent cured/discharged/migrated and 1.99 per cent deaths. On the other hand, Brazil, the country with second highest cases, registers 22,048 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday comparatively very less than India.
