With 54 new cases recorded across the state, the Corona tally of Andhra Pradesh is now at alarming 1,887 in the last 24 hours. According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by 10 PM on May 8th, the state registered three casualties taking the total death toll to 41 out of which, 2 from Kurnool and Visakhapatnam respectively. A total of 842 have so far recovered and have been discharged from the COVID-19 hospitals across the state.
District-wise breakdown of the new cases reveals that Kurnool contributed 7 out of the 54 fresh cases reported in the state taking the total district tally to 547. Followed by Guntur and Krishna with 202 and 185 cases so far. The state nodal officer reported that 7,320 tests were conducted on Friday amongst which 54 turned positive.
