While India’s COVID-19 tally went past the 66.85 lakh mark on Tuesday, health experts heaved a sigh of relief as the country have been registering a constant dip in the number of cases from the past few days.
According to the latest reports from the union health ministry, the total caseload of the country by Tuesday touched 66,85,083 with 61,267 new positive cases. The total number of active cases stays below the 9.2 lakh mark, which is nearly a month low. The overall recoveries went past the 56.6 lakh.
Reported active COVID-19 cases in India now stand at 9,19,023. As many as 56,62,490 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far, the Union Health Ministry has said in its latest update.

While the country touched the of one lakh deaths on 3 days back, India reported 884 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total toll to 1,03,569 in the world’s second-worst affected nation. Yet, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 84.7 per cent.
Coronavirus cases increased by 4,256 to 7,23,512 in Andhra Pradesh on Monday, while the death toll crossed the 6,000-mark. In the 24 hours ending 9 am on Monday, 7,558 patients had recovered while 38 succumbed to take the overall toll to 6,019.
Meanwhile, Telangana logged 1,983 new cases on Tuesday while the total caseload touched 2,02,594. 10 patients succumbed to the deadly viral infection from Thursday morning taking the total toll to 1,181.
