India’s corona tally reached to 31.06 lakh With 61,408 new infections reported in the country in the last 24 hours. While it has been 154 days ever since the central government announced the lockdown restrictions, Indian states and union territories have registered 57,542 deaths with 836 new fatalities on Monday.
Reported active COVID-19 cases in India now stand at 7,10,771. As many as 23,38,035 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far, confirmed the Union Health Ministry in the latest health bulletin. Of the total cases recorded so far, 23,38,036 patients have already recovered, while 7,10,771 are still active undergoing treatment.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh continued to report a maximum number of positive cases while India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 75.3 per cent. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that 3,59,02,137 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country till Sunday. Of these, 6,09,917 were tested yesterday.
As per the health bulletin released by the state government, Telangana logged 1,842 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the state’s tally to 1,06,091 while the toll rose to 761 with 6 more COVID-19 deaths. Meanwhile, Coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh crossed the 3.5 lakh mark on Sunday as 7,895 were added afresh while the state reported 93 more fatalities.
