According to the latest reports from the union health ministry, the total case tally stands at 73,07,098 including 8,12,390 active cases, 63,83,442 cured/discharged/migrated cases.
While the country crossed the grim milestone of one lakh deaths, India reported 680 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total toll to 1,11,266 in the world’s second-worst affected nation. India’s COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 87.4 per cent.

The drastic drop in the fatalities has come as a relief to the health department which has been implementing various containment strategies. This has been the lowest recorded death cases ever since July 20 which witnessed 681 cases.
Showing a further decline, 3,892 fresh coronavirus cases were reported in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday as the aggregate went up to 7,67,465. Twenty-eight fresh Covid-19 deaths were reported as the toll rose to 6,319. With the steady increase in recoveries, active cases stand at a little over 41,000.
Meanwhile, Telangana has reported 1,432 fresh coronavirus positive cases until 8 pm on Wednesday totalling the tally to 2,17,670. While the death toll went up to 1,249 with eight persons dying of the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
