Taking the corona dip further, the deadly novel virus seems to take a breather in India. Recording less than 80,000 cases for 9th consecutive day, Indian states and union territories on Friday reported 70,496 new cases while the Covid-19 tally crosses 69-lakh mark.
According to the latest reports from the union health ministry, total case tally stands at 69,06,152 including 8,93,592 active cases, 59,06,070 cured/discharged/migrated cases. India’s COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 85.5 per cent. On the other hand, death toll claimed to 1,06,490 with 964 fatalities in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
Meanwhile, the total number of cases Telangana mounts to 2,08,535 of which 26,374 are active. 1,878 discharged & 53,086 samples tested on Thursday. The state on Friday logged 7 deaths and 1,891 new cases.
Andhra Pradesh, on the other hand, logged 5,292 new cases on Friday while the total caseload touched 7,39,719. 42 patients succumbed to the deadly viral infection from Thursday morning taking the total toll to 6,128.
