In the wake of World Health Organisation(WHO) estimations that roughly 1 in 10 people worldwide may have been infected by the coronavirus, Indian on Wednesday reported 72,049 new cases taking the total caseload to 67,57,132.
According to the latest reports from the union health ministry, the country has been registering a constant dip in the number of cases from the past few days while there are 9,07,883 active cases as per Wednesday’s reports. The country’s recovery rate reached to 84.7% with 57,44,694 infected cured/discharged/migrated so far.
On the other hand, the death toll claimed to 1,04,555 while the Indian states and Union Territories recorded 986 deaths by Wednesday morning. 11,99,857 samples were tested for Covid-19 on 6th October as a total 8,22,71,654 samples tested in the country up to 6th October, stated ICMR.

Coronavirus cases increased by 5,795 to 7,29,307 in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. In the 24 hours ending 9 am on Tuesday, 6,046 patients had recovered while 33 succumbed to take the overall toll to 6,052.
Meanwhile, Telangana logged 2,154 new cases on Wednesday while the total caseload touched 2,04,708. 8 patients succumbed to the deadly viral infection from Thursday morning taking the total toll to 1,189.
