While the national recovery rate continued to increase to over 82 per cent, no change in the fatalities has come as the main challenge for the Union Ministry of Health. India on Saturday nearly touched 60 lakh-mark with 85,362 new cases in last 24 hours.
According to the latest reports from the union health ministry, Indian states and union territories logged 1,089 deaths from Friday morning taking the total death toll to 93,379. Statistic revealed that the country has been recording over 1k daily deaths for the last 25 days.

As Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh continued to top the chart of the worst-hit states by the outbreak, total case tally stands at 59,03,933 including 9,60,969 active cases and 48,49,585 patients cured/discharged/migrated.
Andhra Pradesh reported 7,073 COVID cases on Friday, taking the cumulative caseload to 6,61,458, while the toll jumped to 5,606 with 48 more persons dying from COVID. Telangana, on the hand, Telangana reported 2,239 new COVID cases, pushing the tally of positive infections to 1,83,866, while the death toll rose to 1,091 with 11 more fatalities, Telangana’s COVID bulletin said on Saturday.
