‘Abki Baar, Trump Sarkar’

Last Updated: September 25, 2019 at 12:42 pm

“My honour to introduce you to my family”, said Modi exchanging warm gestures with the US supremo amidst 50,000 of gathering at Texas state. Houston stood as a witness to one of the largest ever receptions of a foreign leader in the US, ‘Howdy Modi’. The two global leaders Narendra Modi and Donald Trump walked hand-in-hand sending a message that a new era has started strengthening the bilateral relations between India and the United States.

A 90-minute show, featuring 400 performers, warmed up the crowd before Mr Modi and Mr Trump shared the stage. Modi heaped praises on Trump claiming him as India’s best friend in the White House ever. “I admire Trump’s sense of leadership, taking ties between the two nations to a new level. He has left a deep and lasting impact everywhere,” he added. However, Modi didn’t leave the opportunity to lash out on Pakistan. Speaking on Pakistan’s stand on Article 370 issue, Modi ridiculed that few people have made Pakistan that place of hate spreading terrorism. In his speech, Trump asserted that the US would work closely with India to counter terrorism which is a major threat to world countries now. As Trump called it “profoundly historic”, the event has been called a win-win for both the leaders.
