Writer and producer Kona Venkat took the Tollywood to surprise with his Karanam Malleswari’s biopic news. On the occasion of the weightlifter’s birthday on Monday, MVV Cinema and Kona Film Corporation banners announced the film which would be directed by ’Rajagaadu’ fame Sanjana Reddy.
While the film is announced to be made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages, the main lead of the film is yet to be revealed. If the latest buzz at Tollywood is to be believed, the makers approached the talented actress Nitya Menen for Karanam Malleswari’s role.
It was learnt when the makers are on plan to bank the actress’ recent pan-India popularity with films like ‘Mission Mangal’ and ‘Breathe 2’, to everyone’s surprise, Nitya bluntly rejected the offer. This is not the first time, the Malabar beauty refused to play in a biopic, Nitya was also said to reject Nagashwin’s ‘Mahanati’ offer to reprise legendary actress Savitri.
Sources close to Nitya revealed that the actress is very sceptical over playing real-life characters which is why she apparently kept rejecting such roles. Nitya is already in the news with her secret marriage rumours.
