In a major reform made in the last 17 months, Andhra Pradesh state government on Thursday bid adieus to the online sand policy which welcomed sharp criticism. In the line of new policy, people can take sand from the reach they like instead of booking online and wait.
The new policy also helps the public can take directly visit the sand reaches in the rivers and pay the money on the spot and take the sand. It can be noted that the state government delegated the responsibility of sand excavation, storage and sale to the Central Government Agencies and Central Public Sector Undertakings on nomination basis.
The AP Government has also decided to permit individuals to transport the sand for their local needs in villages and towns while they have to pay the prescribed amount to the government in addition to synergy and other taxes. The officials in the officials informed that the 13 districts of the state are divided into three packages.
