Late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s close aide, VK Sasikala is all set to walk free from the Bengaluru central where she has been spending four years in jail in connection to a Rs 66 crore corruption case.
It can be noted that the 66-year-old contracted coronavirus last week and is undergoing treatment in Bengaluru’s Victoria Hospital.
According to the fresh reports, according to prison authorities, she will be formally released today. As confirmed by an official, all the required formalities pertaining to her release will be completed at the hospital itself.
“She will technically be a free person, but not medically yet,” read the report by the health official. Authorities at the Victoria hospital said as per COVID-19 protocol she may have to spend 10 days at the facility.
