Nearly a week before her release after four years of being lodged in jail in connection with in a disproportionate assets case, K Sasikala-a close aid of former CM, AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa has fallen ill on Wednesday.
As per the reports, Sasikala suddenly complained of breathing problem and fever inside the Central Prison. After which doctors were rushed to the prison to address the issue.
While more details are yet to be ascertained, the former AIADMK leader was rushed to Bengaluru’s Bowring Government Hospital.
The doctors at the Bengaluru jail hospital, on the other hand, suspected that Sasikala might have contracted COVID-19 since her blood oxygen level was low at the time of admission.
This came as a shock to Sasikala’s supporters who are expecting her release which came close on the heels of assembly elections in Tamil Nadu are due during April-May 2021.
