Lucknow: In the wake of speculations that Ministry of Home Affairs has started arrangements to hang the four convicts in Nirbhaya case anytime soon, ace international shooter Vartika Singh sat on a unique protest at Lucknow. Urging the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to allow her to hang the convicts, Vartika Singh has written a letter in blood. Claimed to be a move to send a message throughout the country that a woman can also conduct execution, the ace shooter urged the support of women actors and leaders to bring a change in the society. Known for her social works, Vartika has played a crucial role in many protests against the atrocities on women.
Taking to the media, she stated, “women are not meant to live in fear. I hope the government will accept my plea,” she added. With President Ram Nath Kovind has rejected the mercy plea, rumours went rife that the Ministry of Home Affairs has started necessary arrangements in Buxar central jail for the execution. On this note, news that the Buxar central jail didn’t have a hangman spread like wildfire followed up a series of appeals from across the country offering to hang the convicts. However, the convicts filed a review petition in the Supreme Court which would come to hearing on Tuesday.
