As the farmers called for Sakala Janula Samme, all the shops and businesses across 29 villages remained shut except for the essential services. As a part of the protest, the farmers cleaned the government vehicles at Velagapudi. However, the protests took a violent turn with police arresting women farmers. Several women sustained injuries and the police van even ran on the hand of a farmer.
