Protests in Amaravati continued for the 18th day with agitations against the state government to take back the ‘three-capital’ proposal. Tension rose high in Mandadam village with a spat between the women farmers and deployed police authorities. The issue ended up with women getting injured while the police tried to take them into custody to bring situations under control.
As the farmers called for Sakala Janula Samme, all the shops and businesses across 29 villages remained shut except for the essential services. As a part of the protest, the farmers cleaned the government vehicles at Velagapudi. However, the protests took a violent turn with police arresting women farmers. Several women sustained injuries and the police van even ran on the hand of a farmer.
