In yet another jolt to former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his team, Andhra Pradesh anti-corruption bureau on Monday registered a case against the Amaravati capital land scam. In a shocking twist of events, ACB on Tuesday filed criminal cases against 13 people in connection with the alleged insider trading in the capital region.
Former additional advocate general Dammalapati Srinivas is amongst the prominent officials who are pulled up. Confirming the same, ACB DG PSR Anjaneyulu said media that the case had been registered under Prevention of Corruption Act, Cheating, Criminal Conspiracy.
“This is clearly a case of abusing of official position. Srinivas took pecuniary advantage in the form of landed properties for his father-in-law, brother-in-law and his associates from June 2014 to December 2014,” added Anjaneyulu. He also added that the lands were purchased during that period were located either in the core capital area.
It is learnt that ACB also collected several key evidence in support with the allegations that many TDP leaders and celebrities had purchased nearly 4,075 acres in and around the capital region. A Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC) set up by the Andhra government as well submitted its report to the High Court on alleged “insider trading” in the land transactions of Amaravati capital region.
