Hours after the TDP chief was summoned for questioning by Crime Investigation Department (CID) in connection with an alleged land scam in Amaravati, political circles in the state are rife with speculations over the arrest of the former chief minister.
Certain clauses mentioned in the notices issues raised concerns in the TDP cadre. Sources revealed that the notices ordered the TDP chief to be available for the CID officials round the clock and should not influence the witnesses in connection with the case.
While Chandrababu was scheduled to appear before the CID regional office in Vijayawada on the 23rd of this month, whether the ex-CM would attend the interrogation or not turned interesting. Sources at CID office revealed that the officials are preparing to arrest the leader if he doesn’t cooperate with the trail.
According to the allegations made by the ruling YSRCP leaders, Chandrababu is the mastermind behind the assigned land scam in Amravati. The government alleges that the TDP government forcibly confiscated 500 acres of land which was once given to Dalits in the Amravati area.
