With the recent clarification given by BJP national spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao, that Centre will not, in any circumstances intervene in the State Capital issue, political circles and Amaravati farmers are now left in splits. Though the senior BJP leader made the same sort of statement previously, nothing is the same in the state politics with BJPs alliance with Pawan Kalyan’s JanaSena. While the political analysts speculated the central government’s interference in the ‘three capital’ row, GVL’s statement came as a jolt to both JanaSena and Amaravati farmers. The spokesperson’s remarks came in contrary with BJP Rajya Sabha member YS Chowdary and party state unit’s president Kanna Lakshmi Narayana promises made to the protesting farmers.
In a recent press conference held to note the alliance of BJP and JanaSena, state leaders took a clear stand against the capital shift. However, leaders of the same political party giving statements in contrary left the political analysts with speculations of BJP backstabbing farmers and people of Amaravati. While leaders like Kanna Lakshmi Narayana toured Amaravati villages voicing against the government, three MLCs from BJP supported YSRCP government with the AP Decentralisation Bill in the legislative council. Meanwhile, a section of TDP leaders lashed out on BJP for deliberately making statements leaving farmers as victims for leaders’ political vendetta.
