Amidst speculations over the YSRCP-BJP new bonhomie, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday visited and interacted with Andhra Pradesh farmers. The interaction assumed significance in the wake of wrath across the nation over the recently passes farmer bills.
The union minister paid a brief visit to a farm in Jakkula Nekkalam village in Krishna district while on her way to Vijayawada and interacted with the local farmers. Reportedly, she the FinMin reviewed the minimum support price for their yield and the market conditions in view of the pandemic situation.
The farmers were learnt to put forth various demands which were assured by the union minister. She was also seen pitching for the newly introduced bills stating that the reforms will accelerate growth for farm produce in national and global markets.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that the visit didn’t go well with the Krishna district YSRCP cadre hinting upon the fresh row over the visit. It ca be recalled that observed that the AP government was not utilizing the power supplied by the central generating stations.
