An unbearable smell in the middle of the night!
The people of the old city, in Hyderabad, woke up suddenly in the middle of the night unable to bear a strong pungent smell…And as the unbearable stench lasted for a longer period, the people panicked about what was happening. While the children vomited as they couldn’t tolerate the smell, and the adults have fallen sick.
This incident took place on Wednesday night. Residents of Tappachabutra, Yusuf Nagar, Karwan, Nataraja Nagar, Mahesh Colony, etc. were suffocated by this stench. The people kept vigil on the roads throughout the night.
The residents of these areas breathed a sigh of relief, as the stench reduced, after almost one and a half hours. Although a Police complaint was made, despite their best efforts they could not find out the root cause of this pungent smell.
In the past, such incidents were experienced by the slum dwellers of industrial areas like Balanagar and Jeedimetla areas also. The officials concluded at that time…by saying that the chemical waste from that area’s industries was the cause.
