Things took a swift U-turn for the Andhra Pradesh state Congress unit after the state bifurcation. While TDP and YSRCP locked horns in the poll battle, Congress which was already crippled with senior leaders changing loyalties didn’t survive the fight from BJP as well.
With no strong leaders left to take up the responsibilities, Rahul Gandhi who entered the scene has called for a one-on-one meeting with all the potential Congress leaders to incumbent PCC chief Sailajanath after he renders his resignation. In what can be called an opportunity from the crisis, former Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s name is said to be under consideration for this post.
Pushing aside the names of senior leaders like Raghuveera Reddy, JD Seelam, MM Pallam Raju, and megastar Chiranjeevi, Rahul Gandhi, and Oommen Chandy, in-charge of state affairs were learned to be keen on bringing back Kiran Kumar Reddy into active politics.
While it is still a consideration, what Kiran Reddy who has been out of active politics for the past seven years would opt remained interesting. It can be noted that Kiran Kumar Reddy’s brother Kishore Kumar Reddy is now with TDP.
